Alumni Participation

Last Year

Our 2015-16 giving campaign proved to be our most successful in Dillard history. 1,220 alumni made gifts totalling $1,739,745.21. Both numbers set a new standard for our university. Alumni, we're asking you to answer the call once again in supporting the fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) alumni giving initiative.

As of June 30, 2016, 15.1% of our dedicated alumni made a gift to the university, increasing our alumni giving rate from 12.5% the previous fiscal year. Our goal this year is 20% participation - will you answer the call? Donate Today!

This year
This fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) we would like to reach 20% Alumni Participation. That means we need roughly 1,693 donors this fiscal year. As of June 5, 2017, the current Alumni Participation Rate is 13.61%.

WHY IS ALUMNI GIVING IMPORTANT?

External evaluators like U.S. News and World Report use participation rates when calculating rankings. Right now, Dillard’s overall alumni giving rate lags behind that of other colleges and universities like Spelman, Morehouse, Xavier and others.

Annual giving is an essential resource for the university. Some corporations and foundations also require alumni participation rates in proposal requests because they believe their philanthropic or sponsored-research dollars should go to an institution with proven results.

Participation is determined according to the number of alumni who give, rather than the amount of their contribution. That means a $10 gift moves the needle just as much as a $10,000 contribution. Show your love for Dillard by giving!
